Unified Progress International (UPI) Education, Inc. is proud to announce that Eddie Tantoco, has joined their team as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Tantoco will oversee the nonprofit’s various financial functions beginning January 1, 2018 and also serve as a strategic partner with the CEO and the individual project directors as they develop their unique strategies and tactics for long-term impact.
Tantoco was with Marriott Corporation beginning 1986. Moving up the ranks, Tantoco served as Vice President of Host Marriott Corporation until 2001; when he became a partner with Meridian Investments, based in Boston and accepted the appointment of Vice
President, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, from 2004 -2012.
Tantoco started a global consulting firm in 2012, to assist companies and nonprofits in achieving their business objectives in
areas such as renewable energy, technology, medical projects for those most in need and educational resources for children of the world. He was appointed by the United States Secretary of Commerce to the Arizona District Export Council as an expert and advocate for international trade.
Tantoco, a graduate of the University of Maryland, attended the Masters in Tax program at the American University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). “In addition to his deep knowledge as a CPA and business executive, Eddie’s commitment to God and humanity is a tremendous asset to the UPI team; which includes our recently formed ‘Constellation’ group; consisting of business, community and grassroots leaders working together in the areas of Education, Economics, Civic and Community Development” said UPI Founder/President/CEO, Frank Crump. “Eddie brings a distinctive set of professional and leadership skills and we are anxious for him to demonstrate his expertise and passion for communities worldwide.”
