LOREY HAYES is a Broadway, Television/Film Actress turned writer (an original cast member of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide). Hayes is a 2011 Princess Grace Playwright Finalist for Haiti’s Children of God, a critically acclaimed 2011 run in New York (Broadway’s Sarafina and Asinamali). Ms. Hayes is also the proud recipient of a 2011 Harlem Arts Alliance Community Arts Fund Award. Hayes (an original cast member of For Colored Girls) starred on Broadway with Melba Moore in Inacent Black as well as in Home. She starred in London at the Royal Shakespeare festival as Eunice Evans in Miss Ever’s Boys. A regular face on TV commercials, Hayes is featured in the film Dream Girls and has guest starred in numerous television shows; including “Judging Amy,” “Family Law,” “Sister, Sister” and “All My Children.”

Robert ‘Kool’ Bell

Robert Earl “Kool” Bell, also known by his Muslim name Muhammad Bayyan, is an American singer-songwriter and musician. He is the founding member of the jazz/R&B/soul/funk/disco band, Kool & the Gang.
Kool & The Gang has sold over 70 million albums worldwide and influenced the music of three generations. Thanks to songs like Celebration, Cherish, Jungle Boogie, Summer Madness and Open Sesame, they’ve earned two Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards, 25 Top Ten R&B hits, nine Top Ten Pop hits, and 31 gold and platinum albums. Kool & The Gang has performed continuously for the past 45 years, longer than any R&B group in history.

Don Buford

Compton, California (2007). Donald Alvin Buford is a former American Major League Baseball infielder and outfielder with the Chicago White Sox and the Baltimore Orioles between 1963 and 1972. He was a switch hitter and threw right-handed. In his major league career, Buford batted .264 with 93 home runs, 418 RBIs, 718 runs scored and 200 stolen bases in 1286 games played.
In October, 2012 Don Buford, Sr. accepted a new position managing Major League Baseball’s Urban Youth Academy in Compton, California. The academy focuses on baseball and softball training and education and is free to participants. He is now working on his own Community Organization, Educational Sports Institute which is based in Watts.
